How to Add a Tracking Pixel

Last updated on June 14, 2025

Use a tracking pixel to collect detailed visitor data on any of your shortened links. Follow the steps below to generate a pixel, attach it to one or more links, and verify that it’s firing correctly.

1. Generate a New Tracking Pixel

  1. Log in to your 2U.GG account and go to Tracking Pixels.

  2. Click Create Pixel.

  3. In the modal:

    • Pixel Provider: Select a pixel provider from the list.

    • Name: Give your pixel a descriptive title (e.g. “Summer Campaign Pixel”).

    • Pixel Tag: Choose tag pixel provider.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Copy the generated pixel code snippet shown in the dialog.

Tip: You can revisit this list anytime to Edit, Duplicate, or Delete a pixel.

2. Attach Your Pixel to Shortened Links

You can add the same pixel to one link, a group of links, or an entire campaign.

A. Single Link

  1. Navigate to Links → My Links.

  2. Find the link you want to track and click the menu → Tracking Pixels.

  3. In the popup, check the box next to your pixel name.

  4. Click Apply.

B. Multiple Links (Bulk Attach)

  1. On Links → My Links, use the checkboxes to select multiple links.

  2. Click Bulk ActionsManage Tracking Pixels.

  3. Check your pixel(s) and click Save.

C. Entire Campaign

  1. Go to Campaigns & Rotator → Your Campaign.

  2. Click SettingsTracking Pixels.

  3. Select the pixels you want and hit Update Campaign.

  4. All links in this campaign will now include the pixel.

3. Verify Your Pixel Is Firing

  1. Open one of your tracked short links in a new browser tab.

  2. Right-click and choose InspectNetwork.

  3. Reload the page and look for requests to your pixel URL or JavaScript file name.

  4. You can also test firing rules by simulating different devices or locations.

Pro Tip: Append ?utm_source=pixel-test to the short link to ensure clicks aren’t counted in your main analytics.

4. View Pixel Analytics

  1. Return to  Tracking Pixels.

  2. Next to each pixel name you’ll see Total Fires and Last Fired.

  3. Click Details to see a breakdown by link, country, device, and timestamp.
