How to Sign Up for Google Tag Manager and Retrieve Your Container ID

Follow these steps to create a Google Tag Manager (GTM) account and get the container ID (e.g. GTM-ABCDE123) you’ll need to plug into your 2U.GG dashboard.


1. Create or Sign In to Your Google Account

  1. Visit the Google Account page:
    https://accounts.google.com/signup

  2. If you already have a Gmail or Google Workspace account, click Sign in and enter your credentials.

  3. Otherwise, complete the sign-up form to register a new Google account.


2. Access Google Tag Manager

  1. Go to the GTM console:
    https://tagmanager.google.com/

  2. If prompted, select your Google account.


3. Set Up Your GTM Account & Container

  1. Create an Account

    • Account Name: Enter your organization or project name (e.g. “2U.GG”).

    • Country: Choose your country.

  2. Create a

    • Container Name: Use your website’s domain or project name (e.g. “2u.gg”).

    • Target Platform: Select Web.

  3. Click Create, agree to the Terms of Service, and p


4. Locate Your Container ID

After creation, the GTM interface will display your new container’s details at the top of the screen. You’ll see an identifier in the format GTM-XXXXXXX—this is your Container ID.

5. Use Your Container ID in 2U.GG

  1. Log in to your 2U.GG accou

  2. Navigate to Integrations & API → Google Tag Manager.

  3. Paste your GTM-XXXXX ID into the field provided and save.

  4. 2U.GG will now fire all your GTM tags on link redirects automatically.
